🎖️ A Proud Moment for Ibbagamuwa Central College

Past Pupils’ Association of Ibbagamuwa Central College proudly congratulates our distinguished past pupil, Major General A.M.C. Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc, on assuming duties as the 25th Commander of the Security Force Headquarters (Central).

Major General Abeykoon officially assumed command on 1 September 2026, marking yet another significant milestone in an illustrious military career.

His recent elevation follows several prestigious appointments, including his appointment as the Master General Ordnance (MGO) at Army Headquarters earlier this year and his installation as the 20th Colonel of the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR).

🇱🇰 A Distinguished Military Career

From his early years as a student of Ibbagamuwa Central College to attaining senior leadership positions in the Sri Lanka Army, Major General Abeykoon has demonstrated exceptional dedication, courage, discipline, and leadership.

Throughout his distinguished career, he has served in numerous command, staff, and instructional appointments, including as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 54 Infantry Division.

His exemplary service to the nation has been recognized with prestigious military decorations, including the Rana Wickrama Padakkama (RWP) and Rana Sura Padakkama (RSP) for bravery in the field, and the Uttama Seva Padakkama (USP) for distinguished and unblemished service.

His remarkable journey from the classrooms of Ibbagamuwa Central College to the highest levels of military leadership is a tremendous source of inspiration and pride for our entire school community.
